The company LALIKOS KONSTANTINOS AND CO LP started in 1989 with the planting of vineyards in the area of Palea Kavala, overlooking the island of Thassos, in the mountains of the Gulf of Kavala.
He owns an impressive area on one of the highest points of Paggaio, at 700 meters, planted exclusively with French varieties. The new winery of the family business was completed just before the 2005 harvest in Palea Kavala.
The wines produced by this winery have a character that the express not only due to the particularities of the varleties Viognier, Grenache rouge, Gewurztraminer, Labernet, Merlot, Muscat Blanc, Tannat, Syrah and Sauvignon, but also thanks to the distinct terroir or the region where thev are grown and or course to the master and temperament of the winemaker.
The vineyard is planted southeast on four different mountains. The planting is dense 220cm-80cm with linear cultivation.
The soil of the area is clayey and calcareous. The vineyard consists of Greek and international varieties and the yield per hectare is from 300 to 700 kg. The above elements combined with the microclimate of the region and careful vinification, give us excellent wines, full of aromas, unique flavors and long finishes.
The total vineyard area amounts to 160 acres of privately owned and 70 cooperating vineyards. The annual production of bottles currently reaches 170,000 bottles.
The winery has a certificate for quality and food safety according to ISO22000:2018 standard
